Go Lower Bars

The Bottom Line

These low carb snack bars are “nut and seed” bars, somewhat like granola bars. They are tasty and satisfying, and have between 3 and 4 grams of usable carbohydrate each. They are bound together with oligofructose syrup, which is mildly sweet. The raspberry and chocolate flavored-bars have very mild flavors added to the nuts. The bars are easily transportable.

Pros

  • Tastes great
  • No sugar alcohols
  • Nutritious

Cons

  • Chocolate flavor has VERY mild chocolate taste
  • Must mail order

Guide Review - Product Review: GoLower Bars

Are you a granola bar lover? Do you like those nut and seed bars you might see at the health food store that are bound together with a sugar syrup? Or do you just want a transportable, tasty, nutritious low carb snack? If so, you will be pleased that England’s best-selling low carb bar is now available in North America.

Frankly, I am not a big fan of most low carb bars. They tend to be loaded with sugar alcohols, especially maltitol, which I avoid. Or, they don’t taste good. Or they are loaded with non-nutritious “junk”. So I am more than pleased to say that here is a low carb snack bar that has none of these drawbacks.

The only negative comment I received from any of my tasters regarded the chocolate flavor. I think the word “chocolate” conjures up images of candy bars, or chocolate-covered “energy bars”. These really are nut bars, and the chocolate flavor is very mild. The same is true for the raspberry flavor, although it does harmonize well with the nuts for a “fruit and nut bar” experience.

In short, I am pleased to be able to recommend these bars, available through the link below.

Ingredients (Raspberry Flavor): Oligofructose Syrup, Brazil Nuts, Whole Almonds, Soya Crispies (Isolated Soy Protein, Tapioca Starch, Salt), Oats, Pumpkin Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Linseeds, Palm Oil, Freeze Dried Raspberries (1.2%), Flavoring, Emulsifier (Soya Lecithin)
