Low carb tortillas work great as a crust for low carb pizza. Sometimes, I just order an all Meat pizza and eat the toppings only. I have been doing this for so long that this is the way I prefer my pizza now and went from 196lbs down to 140 lbs. Better yet, the weight has been off since 1991 with very little effort!! Thank you low carb!! (I am a lifetime weight watchers member, but darn near starved to death on that diet!!The only thing that has ever worked for me is Low Carb!)

Low Carb Pizzas

I recently added a mini pizza crust to my website: http://dardreams.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!A6DA5B39E04E9E65!774.entry. It's made with chia seeds and almond meal. I also have one made with chia seeds and flaxmeal: http://dardreams.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!A6DA5B39E04E9E65!588.entry and one called "Wannabe Pizza" that is made from ground beef: http://dardreams.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!A6DA5B39E04E9E65!236.entry. I also use my variations of Laura's flaxmeal focaccia bread for pizza crust. This one is made with Carbquick and flaxmeal: http://dardreams.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!A6DA5B39E04E9E65!217.entry and this one is made from Carbalose flour and flaxmeal: http://dardreams.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!A6DA5B39E04E9E65!216.entry. There's no reason to skip pizza while eating low carb. YUM!

PROTEIN POWDER PIZZA CRUST - NO/LOW CARB

I make this personal Pizza for lunch/snack. I make a protein powder pancake, thn top with pizza toppings. FIRST: mix 1/4 cup egg whites, 1 scoop of protein powder (~25g), and some water (enough to make it pancake consistency, or a little thinner.) Pour in onto a hot non-stick pan and cook like a pancake until golden! Then all you need to do is top it with pizza sauce, cheese, and whatever toppings, and put it in the toaster-oven, or oven, on a metal sheet until cheese is melted. Perfect personal pizza! you can use whichever protein powder flavor you want to. I love chocolate or cookies and cream when I'm making protein pancakes by themselves, put opt for plain vanilla when making pizza "crust" because it's taste is more subtle. enjoy

I use Whole Wheat Naan bread for the crust. Perfect personal size. Famous brand jar sauce, low fat mozzarella, and your choice of low carb toppings. I like Canadian Bacon, Green Pepper, Black Olives and a bit of crushed Pineapple. I have Diabetes, this is a fantastic site to get great ideas.

Sausage Crust Pizza

I think I got this idea from one of the Somersize books or sites. I use Bob Evans breakfast sausage, but you could choose a low carb sausage you like. For an individual pizza, press out your sausage into a pretty thin patty. I make about four from a one pound roll. These will shrink when you cook them, so thinner is definitely better. Fry the patties like you would a hamburger, being sure to cook them through for safety. Top with your favorite pizza toppings and bake in the oven like you would any other pizza. We really like this option.

Meatza!!!

The most satisfying solution I've found is meatza, where the crust is made from seasoned ground beef. Fabulous! Dana Carpender's books have a recipe, or there's a really good one at http://www.justinowings.com/b/index.php/me/meatza-meatza The thing is, it's easily customized to suit your own tastes. Yum!!! [Note from Laura: Here's my own meatza pizza variation: http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/maindishes/r/meatzapizza.htm

Pizza Eggs

I make a pizza omelet that really satisfies our pizza cravings. I brown up the pepperoni in the pan and then add the eggs. I put low carb pizza sauce, mozzarella, parmesan and more pepperoni down the middle. I add other toppings as desired. I use Dana Carpenders omelet instructions. Super easy and yummy!

Not pizza but lasagna

I love spaghetti squash lasagna. Substitute pasta with spaghetti squash. It holds well in the fridge and my family likes it as well.

Low-Carb Pizza Crust

When I'm hungry for pizza I use a low carb pita (uncut), add my toppings and bake until cheese is melted.

toppings only pizza crave buster!

When I'm craving pizza, I'll usually just put a pan in the toster oven with shredded cheese and pepperoni spread out, broil for a few minutes- until bubbly, and starting to brown....then eat it with a spoon! All the best parts of the pizza- without the crust!

I enjoy pizza a lot more than i should and when the family has it for lunch or dinner i buy a low carb (joseph lavish bread) it's only 14 carbs for the whole slice and if you watch what you put on it it's very very good.
