When you're used to eating cereal, donuts, or a bagel for breakfast, it's sometimes hard to think of what to eat. What is your favorite low-carb breakfast? Share Breakfast Ideas

Easy Eggs

When your in a rush throw some eggs (2) in a cup and wisk until smooth. Microwave them for about a minute and your done. Also you can make hard boiled eggs at night and eat them in the morning. I bring all these eggs because they are like 0-1 carbs!

Fruit

One half of a small grapefruit has about 7 gms of carbs. It's a nice break from eggs. Strawberries are another option.

My favorite low carb breakfast

1 egg, 1 Tbs. crumbled turkey sausage, 1 Tbs. shredded cheddar cheese, 1 Tbs. sour cream all put in a ziplock bag and smashed all together with your hands until well mixed, then tossed into a pot of boiling water for 18 minutes. When done, I top with salsa or Franks hot sauce.

frittata

by far, for me, the best is the frittata, made a day or two before. tasty, savoury, quick to reheat on a busy morning. And I've used (and modified) the recipe from this site. Many times. Put a low-carb pasta sauce or sauteed mushrooms on it in the evening and it's dinner, too

Breakfast Pita

1 small pita pocket heated, 1 lg egg fried, Ortega style chili pepper heated, Habanero jack cheese any sliced meat you enjoy (uncured bacon, turkey, etc.) Melt cheese in pita pocket with add other ingredients. I like my pita crispy

Muffins

I love to make up muffins at the weekend to feed me during the week. My eggs mixture (which varies depending on what I have in) Eggs, cream, ham, cheese, onion, red pepper what ever you fancy. Then butter and line a muffin tin with some thin sliced ham or cured meat of choice, pour in egg mixture and bake until just cooked. Much easier to release from the pan if they have their ham "crust". But to be honest I've not yet tired of eggs for breakfast and it has been 9 months and I much prefer breakfast the low carb way.

Substantial Breakfast

Saute veggies (your choice I like diced eggplant or spinach with onion and peppers)in butter until tender. While veggies are cooking put 2 whole eggs + 2 whites in bowl. When veggies are tender pour eggs over veggies and cover until eggs whites are set and yolks done to your preference. You probably won't be hungry at lunch time.

Luxurious and lovely pancakes

Have loved all the breakfast ideas. I keep a stack of low carb pancakes in the fridge. Heat one or two in the microwave, butter them if you like, cover with sliced strawberries, a sprinkle of sweetener and a dollop of fromage frais. Luxurious and lovely.

new breakfast idea

I wanted a low carb option to hot cereals, like oatmeal or cream of wheat and found one i love. I make a loaf of vanilla whey protein bread ( 1 carb a slice) and then crumble a slice or two in a bowl and top with hot water, cream and sweetener- cinnamom optional. 8 grams of protein, perhaps 3 carbs in whole bowl.

2 for the Road

Two string cheese sticks and coffee! About 160 calories and less than 2 carbs. (That is, if the coffee is black.)
