What changes I made

I went on Atkins, and stay at Induction levels ( 20 net carbs, at least 15 of which come from veggies).

How I did it

Went to the library and got the book, till I could get my copy from Amazon. Found this website & followed the info, asked tons of questions, and learned a LOT!

Tried new foods: shirataki noodles, kale, flax meal, almond meal, learned that fat isn't my foe, so now enjoy cream in my coffee, cream cheese on my low carb muffins.

Tips & tricks

  • Use low carb veggies for the high carb ones (radishes in 'potato' salad)
  • (Mashed cauliflower for mashed potatoes)
  • Eat lots of eggs!
  • I love the shirataki noodles, but they need care to use.
  • Don't fear fat, the hardest thing for me.
  • Last A1C 5.2, this way of eating works! And I've lost 44 pounds (plus lost the 15 I gained when I quit smoking) total 59 pounds! And I've stuck with it for almost 2 years, never done that before, usually 6 months was all I could stand. I'm never hungry unlike low fat plans.
