Ingredients:
- ½ cup water
- ¼ cup tahini (sesame paste) - best roasted in a jar, rather than raw in a can
- 2 Tablespoons low-sodium tamari or soy sauce
- 1 ½ T brown rice syrup
- 1 piece of fresh ginger, peeled and grated
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small fresh or dried cayenne or other hot pepper, minced
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 T sesame seeds
Preparation:
Combine tahini and water - easiest if you add wated a little at a time. Add the rest of the ingredients.Nutritional Analysis: Each of four servings has 9.4 grams usable carb plus 2 grams fiber and 3 grams protein.
Terri's method for using this to make a dish with baked tofu. She also says it's great with tempeh.:
"Saute onions and the vegetables of your choice in 1 Tbs sesame oil and simmer gently with the marinade."
