Q. Q. Do I have to register to use the forums?
A. You can enter as a guest and read posts, but you must register before you can post or answer a post that's already there. Registering is quick, simple, and free. It also has benefits such as the ability to read whole threads on the same page. Please join us.
Q. Are there any types of posts that are prohibited here?
A. We will delete any spam or commercial posts. Please do not post to sell something or involve anyone in a money-making proposition. Flames or rude / insensitive remarks will be removed. Users who are disruptive may be gagged at the Guide's discretion.
A. As with most places on the Internet, you may make your URL part of your "signature" by typing it under your name at the end of your posts, but please do not place commercial posts on the forum. They will be considered spam and be deleted. (The moderator may make occasional exceptions when posted as part of a genuinely helpful suggestion during a pertinent discussion.)
A. Your first messages to the Forum will be read by the moderator before they appear. This is to prevent spam and other disruptive messages. The moderator checks for new messages several times per day. After that period, the moderator may remove messages that are inappropriate, off-topic, or do not conform to the above guidelines. If a user repeatedly violates the guidelines, they may be prevented from posting ("gagged").
Q. What kinds of diets can be talked about on the Forum?
A. Any diet (popular or just "diet" meaning "way of eating") that seeks to either reduce the overall amount of carbohydrates, or limit the intake of certain sources of sugars and starches, is fair game. This includes South Beach, Atkins, Protein Power, Zone, and Sugar Busters. For other info about low carb diets, consult the FAQ and other information on the main site.
Q. I found a great new product that helped me lose weight! Can I tell the world about it on your forum?
A. Be warned that your Guide has a very high level of suspicion when it comes to weight loss products. At the very least, be prepared with scientific evidence, not just stories about how effective this miracle product is.
