I wanted to know can you take a fiber supplement to lower your carb count? Like how if something has 10 carbs and 4g fiber that would be 6 net carbs. Can I take fiber pills to reduce it even more?
Hi Erica
No, taking addtional fiber doesn’t help reduce the carb count of something else. That’s because the fiber itself is considered to be a carb. In your example, if you took a fiber supplement that had 3 gram fo fiber, it would also add 3 grams of carbs. The carbs and fiber cancel each other out.
