quinoaHave you heard of quinoa? It's an interesting grain (not really technically a grain, but it can be considered one) indigenous to South America, and it's often touted as a high-protein grain, or even a lower-carb one. I decided to find out more, and I think these statements are actually pretty misleading. Check out my new Carb Profile of Quinoa, including carbs, fiber, protein, and glycemic index and load.

My son and I both have tried quinoa with the same results – definitely had blood sugar/insulin reactions to it.
