New Snack: Tofu Chips

altRecently, I've had a hankering for nachos. When that happens, I make up a batch of these simple tofu chips. I figured it was time to share them with you. For nachos, I just melt cheese over them in the microwave, and then add guacamole, salsa, and sour cream to dip. There are lots of other ways to serve these versatile chips, and I include them with this recipe for Fried Tofu Chips.

I noticed you said that by adding cheese, guacamole and/or salsa to chips you got nachos, but, I guess you should know they’re called nachos because of the jalapeņo on top of them. The way they cut the jalapeņo is called “nacho”.

Hope this helps! =)

Hey, Gustavo… In Texas, they aren’t “nachos” unless they get the full cheese and jalapeņo treatment, usually with salsa, and optionally with seasoned ground beef, sour cream, tomatoes, chopped onions, sliced green onions, and/or avocado. Nice linguistic note but not really relevant to the recipe.
