Salmon: True Super Food

Wednesday April 22, 2009
low-carbWe just got bad news about salmon here on the California Coast -- due to a collapse of the salmon population in our area, the commercial salmon season here has been called off for the second year in a row. Happily, the wild Alaskan salmon population is very carefully managed and remains robust. Salmon is a true super food, with healthy fats, Vitamin D, protein, and other healthy nutrients. Are you a salmon lover? I have lots of great info for you:

We here in Southern Oregon are experiencing the same thing but fortunately, my extended family/in-laws are very good anglers and catch salmon well.

We eat wild Alaskan salmon here too!
