Recalled Atkins Bars Back on Shelves

Wednesday March 4, 2009
atkinsGood news! Atkins Nutritionals, who voluntarily recalled their bars containing peanut products a month ago reports that it has reformulated their bars with a new and certified source for the peanuts and peanut butter in their bars, and that the new bars are now in stores or will be soon (they have not made it to my local supermarket yet).

I bought a box today at Wal-mart. I was thrilled to see them back on thelf. Unfortunately I checked the date when I got home and it was a date subject to the voluntary recall. Someone must have been asleep at the switch at Wal-mart to put a peanut product on the shelf without checking the date. So now I’m still waiting on my Atkins Peanut Butter Bars. Sigh.
