Purple People Day!
Wednesday November 5, 2008
Last night, both Barak Obama and John McCain called for those of us in the U.S. to work together. Can this election usher in a new era of cooperation? It's still way too early to tell. But Wendy Bumgardner, About.com's Guide to Walking, declared today "Purple People Day", and I think it's a great idea. In other words, let's try to get beyond "red" and "blue". I wore purple to my Toastmaster's meeting today (I'm trying to improve my public speaking skills) and challenged people to come up with ways to bridge gaps and work together. Granted, this has little to do with low-carb eating, but maybe we can eat some purple low-carb foods like blackberries and blueberries to celebrate!

Maybe we should all think about being purple people EVER day.
Amen!
