Low-Carb Comes Out Ahead in Diet Comparison
Monday July 21, 2008
As promised, here is my analysis of the diet research from last week's New England Journal of Medicine. I dug into it, and I think you'll find information here that you won't find in other places in the media -- did you realize, for example, that by the six-month mark the participants in the low-carb group were getting 40% of their calories from carbohydrates? All in all, though the study wasn't perfect, I'm very hoping that it leads to a much broader acceptance of carbohydrate restriction as a tool to promote weight loss and improve health.
