News from the Blogosphere

Blogs are growing by leaps and bounds - it's hard to keep up with them all! I have a list of some low-carb blogs here. And here are some of my favorite recent blog posts from around the net:
Regina Wilshire of the Weight of the Evidence blog has had some great stuff in the past couple of months, including:
- Five Simple Rules for Eating
- Insightful comments about a media report of a study of the negative effects of fast food (a "Supersize Me" sort of study). The study suggested that the sugar [carbs] in the food was the problem, while the media reports said it was the fat. I was really glad to see this analysis, because I think the message of the movie "Supersize Me" has very often been totally misinterpreted (helped by the movie itself).

Dr. Michael Eades often has biting analysis about the lastest in "diet news" and emerging trends. Check out this commentary of a recent video which may exemplify where mainstrem medicine is going now.
Mary Shoman, About.com's Guide to Thyroid Disease, has an interesting report on how too much carbohydrate may raise the risk of thyroid cancer.
Jimmy Moore has one of the most dynamic low-carb blogs around! Check out:
- A 5-part podcast series with low-fat diet advocate Dr. Dean Ornish
- A report on the Diabetes Educator of the Year awards - low carb advoates Dr. Mary Vernon and Dr. Richard Bernstein came in 2nd and 3rd place.
- A long list of new Low-Carb Blogs!
