New About Site: Metabolic Syndrome

Sunday January 28, 2007
altHave you heard of metabolic syndrome? Many people who respond well to low carb diets are on the "Road to Diabetes" and have insulin resistance or full-blown metabolic syndrome. Now, About has a site just for metabolic syndrome, with RN Maryanne Pemberton as it's Guide. She has lots of information about metabolic syndrome and how to treat it. Check out About's new Metabolic Syndrome site today!

Interesting that you tout the low carb appoach as the best for metabolic syndrome. The other site seems more geared toward low fat.

I am a Type 2 diabetic who is doing very well with low carb, despite what the “experts” say.

Good for you, Dan! It really makes no sense to me for a body which is having trouble processing sugar to be given a diet which is high in sugar (which is what low fat diets almost always are).

I think it’s a shame that the ADA leaves people to figure out for themselves which diet helps with blood glucose control, which for many people involves reducing carbohydrates.

Thanks for leaving your comment! I like to know what people are thinking.
